The Shepherd’s Center’s Counseling Program is a holistic approach that positively impacts the well-being of Hamilton County’s seniors and helps ensure a great quality of life as they age.
Research studies show that prolonged isolation of individuals leads to depression and anxiety. The anxiety and depression increases exponentially as people enter into the senior age group.
To combat the epidemic of depression and anxiety among seniors, in May of 2021, the Shepherd’s Center launched a Counseling Program.
The goals of the Counseling Program are:
- Decrease symptoms from mental health issues/disorders
- Improve quality of life
- Decrease isolation
A Shepherd’s Center of Hamilton County therapist works with clients to create a treatment plan and goals which remain in place until a long-term provider is identified or goals are met. The program utilizes all Shepherd’s Center resources to deliver a comprehensive approach to improve our client’s well-being and reduce barriers such as transportation and stigma. This service is free of charge.
